Darian is a digital media specialist who has leveraged 10 years of experience in entertainment journalism into the tech/social media sectors. As a Social Media Manager, he now leads TikTok content strategy at Automattic, including the Tumblr TikTok and WordPress TikTok. He manages content creators, oversees storytelling from end to end, and specializes in marrying his news background with scaling brand accounts.
Previously, Darian wrote and reported on game shows for TV Insider (breaking the site traffic record for a single day) and The U.S. Sun. Before game shows, Darian covered entertainment and lifestyle for CBS News, Weather.com (leading YouTube strategy) and The Observer where he had a weekly streaming TV column.
As a stand-up comic, Darian has performed all over New York City. His one-man show, Piano Boy, was a New York Magazine performance pick, and he was the musical director at Asylum Theater. He had a musical run at the NYC Fringe Festival, and has opened for comedians Nick Kroll (Big Mouth) and Ayo Edebiri (The Bear). Darian has also regularly appeared as an on-camera expert for the Travel Channel.
A native New Yorker (the suburbs, but let him have this), Darian has interjected his many years of pop cultural curation and being slightly pretentious into a strong, comedic POV. His obsession with trends, hot takes, and what’s next in internet/pop culture has informed his career and his inability to stop yapping. He lives on the Upper East Side with his husband, Max.
